I began writing this song the day of the Sept. 11 attacks.

In addition to what had happened, I was literally shaking with the dreadful awareness of what would ensue. The spirit of the song is to remember love in all circumstances, and to remember to forget-- "I'm empty I'm empty I'm empty inside"). To forget, that is, the constructs we all have inside our psyches that prevent us from having the most compassionate and insightful responses to any and all situations. Its about shaking with fear, stark awareness, and in the spirit of many of the great African songwriters, at the same time shaking and dancing with Joy and Love in the face of Adversity.
